Described as a World Heritage Site in 1987, this region is densely covered by the mystic mangrove forests, has a complex network of tidal waterways and mudflats, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger. Apart from tigers, Sundarban has an amazing avian biodiversity and some threatened species like estuarine crocodiles and the king cobra.
