Situated in the Konkan region along the West coast of peninsular India, Bhagwan Mahavir WLS is a 240 sq km of protected area within Western Ghats along the eastern border of Goa and forms a part of the one of the largest contiguous patches of protected areas in the central Western Ghats. The sanctuary has Mahdei Wildlife Sanctuary to the north and Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary to the South. Dandeli Anshi Tiger reserve borders the area to the East. The annual raifall exceeds 3,000 mm. Tambdi Surla, is not only known for the 12th Century old temple of Lord Mahadeva, but the forest of Tambdi Surla is extremely popular amongst the Macro Photographers because of its rich biodiversity that it hosts which starts vibrating with life specially with the onset of the monsoon. Chorla Ghats is situated in borders of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra. This area is at a higher elevation. It is a part of the Western Ghats at an elevation of 800 meters. The geography boasts of a few rare species of wild-life such as the barred wolf snake (Lycodon striatus) in its sub-tropical forests. Lastly,

A born nature lover, decided to pursue photography as a hobby after his visit to Gir National Park, Gujarat, India in 2013. Soon, this hobby, turned into serious passion. Ashutosh has been photographing various species in wilderness, which includes Mammals, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles etc. He is always on lookout for making creative images having different perspective. He inclines more towards presenting his images in an art form. He has travelled extensively across various terrains in India and Africa, in search of those rare creative moments. His work has been recognized by leading international nature and conservation institutions like NGC, BBC Willife Magazine, iNaturalist.org etc. He has also exhibited his work on national and international forums. He is associated as a Panel Photography Expert and Consultant, Strategy Team DCP, Mumbai.
