Getting Ready

Things to carry:

  • DSLR, Mirrorless Camera, Wide angle lens
  • Carry fully charged batteries for your camera
  • Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries
  • Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop
  • ND filter (minimum 3 stops, we recommend 6 stops) and polariser filter (like CPL)
  • A sturdy tripod is a MUST.
  • Shoes: Gumboots are always good, wear non-slippery footwear
  • Wired/wireless remote trigger, camera timer will also work.
  • It is advisable to carry basic first aid along with you.
  • Do carry protective rain gears (Umbrella must) for yourself and for your equipment. We find Ponchos very good.
  • Please carry microfiber cloth/small towel to quick wipe camera from rain drop
  • Carry basic first aid along with you. Carry regular medicines if you are on medication.
  • Carry basic first aid kit, carry your regular medicine. Carry mosquito repellent creams.
  • Drinking water/eatables.

Itinerary

Our photography journey commences early in the morning, with scheduled pick-ups starting from Vashi at 6 am. Subsequent pickup points include Ghansoli, Airoli, Mulund, Thane, and Teen Hath Naka. Breakfast will be served en route to Mumbai-Nasik highway (near Kasara), preparing us for the exciting day ahead. Our destination is Bhandardara, and we anticipate reaching there by lunchtime, following the scenic route through Igatpuri, where we will stop to shoot 3 waterfalls. Fix your camera on tripod before we get down from Car/bus

Upon arriving in Bhandardara, we'll begin our photographic adventure with a session dedicated to capturing two adjacent waterfalls. Afterward, we'll check-in to our hotel, enjoy a delicious lunch, and take a moment to rejuvenate. Later in the afternoon, we'll explore the surrounding waterfalls, guided by our expert who will provide valuable on-field photographic guidance. As the day winds down, we'll engage in informal discussions, sharing tips and tricks of landscape photography. A group discussion over dinner will further enhance our photography knowledge and camaraderie.

Today's agenda is to delve deeper into Bhandardara's wonders. We'll explore the dam and its surrounding areas, taking in the natural splendor as we progress. A delightful lunch will be served en route, energizing us for further exploration of unexplored waterfalls that promise abundant photographic opportunities, embracing landscapes and cascading waterfalls. After lunch, we'll engage in a discussion session, exchanging insights and experiences.

As our photography tour concludes, we'll prepare for the return journey to Mumbai, ensuring that our mentors assist with any post-processing queries, refining the images captured during the phototour.

Field Learnings

On field learning from the experts is said to be one of the best methods of improving your skillsets. Our Landscape Photography Expert will hand hold you at every possible step for a better understanding of perspectives, camera controls and how to make use of the best opportunities to get better images. The training will focus on the following

  1. How to shoot landscape.
  2. How to use wide angle lens.
  3. How to shoot with editing in mind.
  4. Different modes of shooting (Av / A, Tv / S, M and P)
  5. Exposure control in field under difficult light conditions
  6. Mastering metering techniques (Spot, partial, center weighted, evaluative)
  7. Mastering auto focus, focusing points, AF locking and focus tracking for moving subjects
  8. Framing and composition in the field
