How To Reach

Travel to the destination is not included in the package. Reach Mumbai International Airport. Coordinate with Admin team for car pooling if you require.

Travel to the destination is not included in the package. The nearest railway station to Bhandardara is Igatpuri. From station, can take the road via Ghoti Budruk. In around 1 hour and 10 minutes you will reach Bhandardara

Getting Ready

Things to carry:

  • Wide angle lens
  • Carry fully charged batteries for your camera
  • Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries
  • Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop
  • ND filter (minimum 3 stops) and polariser filter (like CPL)
  • A sturdy tripod is a MUST.
  • Wired/wireless remote trigger, camera timer will also work.
  • It is advisable to carry basic first aid along with you.
  • Do carry protective rain gears (Umbrella must) for yourself and for your equipment. We find Ponchos very good.
  • Carry basic first aid along with you. Carry regular medicines if you are on medication.

Itinerary

All are requested to reach Bhandardara on their own by lunch time. After reaching, check in hotel have lunch and take some rest. Visit the surrounding waterfalls post noon. Join our expert for an on field photographic guidance. We will have informal discussions on tips and tricks of landscape photography in evening.

The camp also combines a unique creative night photography session on themes of astro, light painting including steel wool based creative photography. Get ready for an out of the world experience. Join the group discussion over dinner. 

Today we will explore Bhandardara. We will be visiting the dam and the surrounding areas, we will have our lunch on the way, we will proceed to some unexplored waterfalls, which offer abundant photographic opportunities of landscapes, waterfalls. Post Lunch, we will have our discussion and backpack for return journey to Mumbai / our respective cities.

Field Learnings

On-field learning from the experts is said to be one of the best methods of improving your skill-set. Our expert will hand hold you at every possible step for a better understanding of perspectives, camera controls and how to make use of the best opportunities to get better images. The training will focus on the following

  1. How to shoot waterfalls
  2. Long exposure control.
  3. Best camera setting for waterfall shoot.
  4. How to shoot timelaps (clouds)
  5. How to bracket the exposures.
  6. Creative night photography - astro, light painting including steel wool based creative photography

This was an exhilerating experience. Sangram took us and helped us to navigate the scene and click. The places he took us were awesome. The only one feedback will be to truely cover the vast landscapes in area rather than just focussing on waterfalls. This will become then holistic landscape experience for the participant.
