Stay
Vietnam is an amazing destination for a wildlife photographer, offering extraordinary opportunities for photographing some of the most beautiful endemic species only found in this geography.
In the Dong Nai and the Cat Tien National Park, you will experience the hot and humid evergreen, broadleaf forest, or bamboo forest mixed with broadleaf trees and sometimes deciduous dipetocarp forests of Asia. In Bidoup Nuiba National Park, you will discover a completely different forest type. High mountain, humid, tropical forest habitat, cold air, coulds and drizzle, make the forest more dense. The birds are more here. You will visit the vast green pine forest and the lake side forests on the plateu. On the way between Cat Tien and Bidoup, a stop and Di Linh, which has immense coffee fields is usually a good option.
The various bird species that you will be able to photograph in these forests include Bar Bellied Pitta, Blue Rumped Pitta, Germain’s Peacock Pheasant, Siamese Fireback, Orange necked Patridge, Green legged Patridge, Red Broadbill, Banded Broadbill, Orange breasted Trogon and many more.
This itinerary combines Dong Nai, Cat Tien National Park, Bidoup Nuiba National Park, Di Linh plateau and an optional extra day in Da Nang city to photograph the amazing Red Shanked Doucs.
