About The Tour

Tanzania, is undoubtedly one of the best wildlife destinations in the world. It has some of the world’s most famous game reserves and national parks. But of all the reserves, Ngorongoro Conservancy Area and the Serengeti National Park are our favourites. The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site that is a haven for a variety of wildlife. Ngorongoro is the remnant of a volcano that blew apart, leaving a flat plain area ringed with steep walls, which now has a large soda lake, fresh springs and sheltering forests. There is a large concentration of animals in the Crater and sightings of the "Big Five" - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard - are almost guaranteed. The structure of the Crater and the wildlife it attracts makes for a great African wildlife experience. The Serengeti eco-system contains the greatest concentration of wildlife in Africa. The varied topography and seasons creates a hugely diverse range of landscapes and changing wildlife habitats. Millions of migratory wildebeest, zebra and antelope roam the plains together with their attendant predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal. We will be there at the peak of the calving season, which attracts predators all around and is the best time for a wildlife photographer to be there.

The largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet involves more than a million animals following the rains, including more than 1.5 million white-bearded wildebeest and 250 000 zebras. Prides of lions, as well as groups of elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and eland, roam among the photogenic vast grass plains between weird-and-wonderful-looking acacia trees. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains and horse riding safaris are on offer.
