General Information

We have received a number of requests from Mumbai to conduct a digital image processing workshop. We understand that the subject is oceanic and it is difficult to assimilate the advanced techniques within a short time. We have therefore, crafted this workshop in such a way that the participants can get more of a practical hands on experience during this workshop. This workshop will ensure a complete learning to a photographer to help present his / her photographs for contests, exhibitions, print-media publications or for commercial usage.

What's so good about it

This workshop covers everything that a photographer needs to know for processing and presenting his images to the world in an optimum manner, starting from knowing the basic processing tools, advanced tools to the best concepts of framing and composition, and finally a personalized handholding by working on your own images. You will be able to see the visible difference in your images instantly. The workshop is specially crafted keeping in mind the need of a photographer to make his / her work standout from the rest.

Things to carry

This workshop will use Adobe Photoshop as the digital image processing platform . You are requested to bring your laptops loaded with Photoshop CS5 or higher version. In case you do not have Photoshop installed, please download the trial version from here one week before the workshop.

Please note that Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) is specially designed for photographers and is available for Rs 676 per month. We strongly recommend that you opt for this in order to have access to the software in future.

Field Learnings

The workshop will cover right from opening RAW image, processing and exporting JPEG for print or social media.

-ACR basic tools of Lens correction, sliders for brightness, contrast, white, black, shadows, highlights, graduated and radial filters and it's use

-WB corrections techniques, lense correction

-Introduction to menu and tools

-Preference setting for photography

-Introduction to Layers, curves, levels

-Various Adjustments tools

-Basic Layer Masking Technique

-Basics of Blending modes

-Actions setup

-Image selection tools, image resizing

-Basic Sharpening, Noise reduction techniques

-Introduction to Dodging burning techniques

-Exporting image for print, and website, Facebook, Instagram, 500px etc.

-Demonstration of Mentor's Workflow.

-Participant's Selected image processing (Raw to JPEG).

DCP Expert

Ashok Dewangan, is a Pharma R&D Manager by profession, did his masters in pharmacy, currently based in Mumbai. He is a passionate photographer and loves to experiment with various genres of photography. His work has been acknowledged and appreciated in various platforms including National Geographic. He loves to explore in and around beauty of Mumbai and devotes his non-office hours in travelling to new places and do experiments with photography. His core area of expertise is wildlife and long exposure. Apart from being a photographer, he is a talented calligrapher. He is currently associated with the team as Group Leader, Team DCP Mumbai.
