General Information
Hampi is an ancient village in the south Indian state of Karnataka, it has been described by UNESCO as an "austere, grandiose site" of more than 1,600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India that includes "forts, riverside features, royal and sacred complexes, temples, shrines, pillared halls, mandapas, memorial structures, water structures and others. Hampi’s landscape provides ample opportunities for photographers to capture ancient beauties. The structures, the architectures, monuments, vivid landscapes, rocky mountains under suitable lighting provide a complete unmatched photographic opportunities.The post processing sessions will enable photographers to learn how to process images taken from wide angle lens, right from Raw image process till posting in social media/print. 

 

Itinerary
Scheduled dates: 24th - 26th September 2021
 
Itinerary
 
Day 1 
 
Reach Hampi your own, pickup can be arranged from Hospet to hotel. Check-in to Hotel, get refreshed. We will have lunch at 1 pm and have a small discussion about the places and itinerary. Take rest and  get ready for first session at 4 pm. We will visit Hemakuta Hill complex to capture play of light along with structure, we will also learn, how to practically use leading lines and other photographic compositions in image. We come back at the hotel by 8 pm, have dinner and spend the late evening by joining the group for image review and post processing session followed by the discussion on experience and consult mentors for any guidance in photography.
 
Day 2
 
Wake up call would be at 4 am. we will start our morning tour (Second session) at 4:30 am and trek to Matang Hill to enjoy the Sunrise and take some breath-taking landscapes of Hampi City and massive boulders. We will head to Vijay Vitthal temple (stone chariot)  and have our breakfast outside the temple complex and head to nearby places. We will come back hotel, have lunch and review images. In evening, we will visit Tungabadra river ghat (Third session) and capture sunset, river along with coracle. We plan to reach back early and do a post processing session.
 
Day 3
 
Wake up call would be at  4 am. we will start our morning tour at 4:30 am and head to Hemakuta Temple complex, to capture sunrise, this will be our last session (fourth), we will come back hotel have breakfast and checkout at 10:30am.

Things to carry
 
1. Lenses – Wide angle (10-18, 11-16), 18-55, 18-135 and kit lenses..
2. Carry fully charged batteries for your camera / flash.
3. Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries.
4. Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop.
5. Carry a Tripod.
6. Carry a big towel / cloth to protect your gear from dust.
7. Carry a big cloth / bandanna / scarf to protect you from dust.
8. Warm clothes, gloves for the chilly early mornings.
9. Sun screens are very important.
10. It is advisable to carry basic first aid along with you.
11. Please carry suitable mosquito repellants to keep you protected from mosquito bites.
 
Field Learnings 

On-field learning from the experts is said to be one of the best methods of improving your skill-set. Our expert will hand hold you at every possible step for a better understanding of perspectives, camera controls and how to make use of the best opportunities to get better images. The training will focus on the following

  1. How to shoot landscapes, heritage structure.
  2. Different modes of shooting (Av / A, Tv / S, M and P)
  3. Exposure control in field under difficult light conditions
  4. Mastering metering techniques (Spot, partial, center weighted, evaluative)
  5. Mastering auto focus, focusing points, AF locking and focus tracking for moving subjects
  6. How to get sharp images of moving subjects
  7. Framing and composition in the field

 

DCP Expert
Ashok Dewangan, is a Pharma R&D Manager by profession, did his masters in pharmacy, currently based in Mumbai. He is a passionate photographer and loves to experiment with various genres of photography. His work has been acknowledged and appreciated in various platforms including National Geographic. He loves to explore in and around beauty of Mumbai and devotes his non-office hours in travelling to new places and do experiments with photography. His core area of expertise is wildlife and long exposure. Apart from being a photographer, he is a talented calligrapher. He is currently associated with the team as Group Leader, Team DCP Mumbai.

 

Stay

We will be staying in home-stay with separate beds. Accomodation will be well sanitized before we check-in and in between. To avoid cross contamination and to keep social distancing beds are placed accordingly. Staff are well-trained and keeping social distance. 

 

Package Cost

Rs 16000 per head inclusive of all taxes

  1. Accommodation for 2 nights and 3 days.
  2. Veg and non-veg breakfast, lunch and dinner during the stay.
  3. All park charges, entry fee etc.
  4. DCP photography expert for 3 days.

Cost does not include:

  1. Travel from Mumbai to Hampi and back 
  2. Camera-fee if any.
  3. Mineral Water, Soft Drinks, Laundry Charges, Phone Calls, Tips etc.
  4. Any kind of insurance, Medical or/and Emergency Charges.
  5. Any extra meals not included in the above itinerary.

Cancellation policy

  1. All cancellations before 30 days of the event date - 100% refund
  2. All cancellations between 20 - 30 days of the event date - 50% refund
  3. All cancellations within 20 days of the event date - No refund possible
