The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” – Chinese proverb.

It’s a great pleasure to announce that DCP Expeditions LLP has joined hands with Project GreenHands (PGH), which is the environmental initiative of Isha Foundation. The project so far, has mobilized thousands of individuals, farming families, NGOs, SHGs and Corporates towards tree planting activities. From planting 25,000 trees in Tsunami affected coastal areas that marked the beginning of the project, the project has enabled the plantation of 28 million saplings by involving over 2 million volunteers till date.

On average, one tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen each year. Two mature trees can provide enough oxygen for a family of four. According to Conservation International, in last 100 years, we have wiped out nearing half of the forest cover on earth. The worst part is the fact that we’re cutting the forests down at a much faster speed each year to plant crops, graze cattle and generate income from timber and other forest products”. Deforestation causes climate change. Deforestation can amount upto 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions, which is equivalent to the emissions from all the vehicles on Earth combined. It is high time that we realize this well.

We all lead a hectic lifestyle. But we all want to do something for the Mother Earth. To help you in this process, we have joined hands with Project GreenHands for an Online Tree Plantation Campaign, especially for the city folks, who don’t have the time or space to plant and nurture trees, where people can plant trees online with just the click of a button. This campaign is called World Environment Day campaign but it is run all through the year. In this campaign, as soon as you make a donation, you will receive a tree certificate in your name with a unique tree tracking code. Using this, you can know where exactly your trees have been planted (GPS coordinates of farmland) and the name of the farmer growing your trees. All it takes is just Rs.100/2 $ per tree (Including post planting care and re-plantation for 2 years till your trees become self sustainable)

Any contribution made to Project GreenHands will be treated as a donation for which we will issue a receipt that is eligible for 80G tax exemption.

GreenHands will

a. Plant and nurture YOUR trees.
b. Let you know the exact location of your trees
c. Give you the name of the farmer who grows it for you.

Please join our campaign here http://www.giveisha.org/dcpexpeditions and donate. We have set a target for now. If we get good response, we will increae this target.

We also understand, when it comes to online donation, you will have a lot of questions. Please also CLICK HERE For Frequently asked questions like - how do I know PGH is genuine? Why 100 Rupees? How to do follow up and monitoring ? How will my trees survive? How will I know where my trees are? What kinds of trees are planted? How and when do I track my trees?
